It was initiated under the name of Motor Program in 1980 and later by being changed its name it became Automotive Program; and with the latest application it has taken the name of “Automotive Technology.” It is a program which gives two-year-education in order to enable them to grow as to be suitable for quality and service philosophy which qualified intermediate man power which both production and post-selling stages of the automotive sector need in the service stage, meets the expectations of the age. The graduate students have the qualities between administrator/engineer and worker in the production and post-selling stages; or they set up their own business. The education which automotive technician has got will provide him to have highly handcrafted and make him to know advanced technology and the modern tendencies in information technologies. Students have been admitted to the program according to The Vocational and Technical Education Project since 2001. Lessons are done 35% practically, 65 % theoretically; and they consist of 70% vocational lessons, 30% service lessons. The lessons in the program are carried by one Assistant Professor Doctor, three Lecturers and the other Lecturers are assigned from other units of the university. In the 450 m2 closed area, there are three workshops, one mechanical drawing and theory class, one device room, rooms for lecturers and technicians. These places are equipped with test, setting and control devices which help to complete the theoretical education, and other assistant equipment.
