What is Diploma Supplement?

The Diploma Suplement which was developed by the European Commission,Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES accompanies a higher education diploma and aims at providing sufficent independent data to improve the international “transparency” and fair academic and professional recognition of qualifications( diplomas,  degrees, certificates etc..). It is designed to provide a description of the nature,level,context,content and status of the studies that were pursued and successfully completed by the individual named on the original qualification to which this supplement is appended.It is free from any value judgements, equivalence statements or suggestions about recognition.More detailed information is available at  www.enic-naric.net

Diploma Supplement consists of the following eight sections :

  1. Information Identifying the Holder of the qualification
  2. Information identifying the qualification
  3. Information on the level of the qualification
  4. Information on the contents and results gained
  5. Information on the function of the qualification

  7. Certification of the Supplement
  8. Information on the National Higher Education System

The Diploma Supplement is an important document for  the holders since it helps the definition of European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) in  International Higher Education Area by giving detailed information about the degrees , levels and professional competencies. It offers the following benefits to the holders:

Who Can Get Diploma Supplement?

Diploma Supplement has been issued in English to all of Nigde University graduates automatically and free of any charges upon their graduation.

Where/ How can you get Diploma Supplement?

You can get your Diploma Supplement together with  your Diploma, you should go to the Registrar’s Office in the Rectorate at the campus to get your Diploma and Diploma Suplement.  Diploma Supplement will only be given to the person himself/herself  not to the third person.

What It Is Not Used For?

  • Diploma Supplement is not a Curriculum Vitae(CV)
  • It is not a  substitute for  the original transcript of records or diploma or qualification,
  • It is not an automatic system that guarantees recognition
